FALL RIVER – Maria DeMedeiros Barbosa, age 86, passed away on February 19, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel H. Barbosa. Born in Capelas, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Maria (Roque) Medeiros. Maria worked at Santoro for over 35 years. She loved cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Maria is survived by her children Lana Batista (husband Edmund), Joe Barbosa (wife Lelia), Mario Barbosa (wife Karen) Gabriela Ferreira (husband Donald), Maria DaSilva (husband Joe) and Michelle Rebello (husband Jimmy) all of Fall River; siblings Jose Medeiros, Germaine Medeiros, Antone Pacheco and Manuel Medeiros; 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Bill Medeiros and Isabel Medeiros.
