Geronimo R. Malone of Boston, MA, was born unto Alfred Malone and Eugenia Reed on February 6, 1940. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home on February 2, 2021, after a long battle of congested heart failure.
Before migrating to the United States, Geronimo had four children, Danilo, Isvi, Wilson, and Eddy. He migrated from Dominican Republic to the U.S at the age of 33 to look for better opportunities. He met the love of his life Lucille Wilson and got married on August 27, 1973. To this union three children were born, Gwendolyn, Jeannie and Eric. Geronimo was a jack of all trades. His work included being a welder, repairman (for refrigeration/appliances), an advocate and community activist for the American dream by helping anyone who needed help with interpreting and translation through the immigration process.
Geronimo was known for his radiant smile, jokes, and his hard work. He loved to talk about sports, politics, music, dancing, family, dreams, and God. He was a family-orientated and loving son, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He loved to eat Dominican cuisine. His favorite baseball team was the Yankees and he enjoyed listening to his favorite music station Kiss 108 every night.
Geronimo had his own personal relationship with God. He was not affiliated with a church but always called upon Timothy Baptist Church for prayers and to serve him communion.
Geronimo had a special bond with his daughter Jeannie, his caretaker, who provided him with quality and comfort all the days of his life. He loved his children and grandchildren deeply, always thinking of ways to see them happy. His grandchildren all had special nicknames he assigned to them. He also loved helping people and took it upon himself to be a mentor support to Anthony through his adolescence. Geronimo loved his mom and spoke about cherished moments she provided for his life. We will always remember Geronimo’s presence at family gatherings where he enjoined playing dominoes. laughing and dancing to music.
Geronimo is survived by his six children: Danilo, Isvi, Wilson, Eddy, Jeannie, Eric, his special friend Lucille Malone, and a host of family, cousins, and friends.
