Obituary

Flynn, Michael A. Of Dedham, born in Chicago IL (88yrs) passed suddenly on January 14, 2021. Beloved husband of Patricia  (Nielson) Flynn for 58 years, devoted father of William Michael Flynn of Dedham, beloved grandfather of Anthony William Pimentel Flynn of Madison, WI, and beloved “Grandpa” of  Alexander Lam of Martha’s Vineyard.  Brother of Francis Flynn of Bradenton FL, Carol Flynn McNamara of Concord, and Eileen T. Downing of West Roxbury. Son of the late Anthony and Mary Theresa Flynn formerly of Jamaica Plain. Brother of the late John Flynn of Marshfield, the late Mary Kearney of Norwell, and the late Noreen Feehan/Stevens of Florida. He leaves behind numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Michael was a Navy (Korean)Veteran, a member of Compton DD705 Association, and enjoyed eight Conventions, also the Mystic Valley Railway Society locally. He enjoyed 25 years of travel with family and friends to Aruba. Michael was employed by the US Postal Service as a Supervisor until retirement. Then he drove the handicapped van for The Ride for 13 years.

Due to the pandemic, a private Funeral Mass will be held at St, Mary’s Church, Dedham and will be live streamed on the Church website on Thursday, Feb 25th at 2:00pm, please go to stmarysdedham.com. However, a celebration of life will be held at a later date when it is safe to do so.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Michael’s memory to Dana-Faber Cancer Institute, dana-farber.org or New England Center and Home for Veterans, nechv.org.
