The youngest of five siblings, he was the 2nd son of the late, Marie Dolores (Booker) Ashe. Kevin graduated Brighton High School in June 1981 and attended Chamberlayne Jr. College that Fall. There, he studied Business Management where he excelled at accounting. After a brief college stint, Kevin attempted a career in the Marine Corp. From there, Kevin worked for the U.S. Postal Service for a few years before trying his hand as a prep cook at a few local restaurants and bistros. He was an avid sports fan and had a very unusual knack for knowing stats for professional athletes in all four major sports. He was a fierce competitor in street hockey, baseball and basketball, winning amateur awards for his participation on the teams he played for in Little League and “Babe Ruth” baseball and B.N.B.L. Basketball and West End House Basketball teams at the time.
He also had a thirst for keeping up with the events of the day, always mindful of what was going on locally, nationally and, around the world. His greatest gift was his loyalty to his family and his generosity to his friends. If you needed something, Kevin always showed up. His love for his family will be sorely missed!
He leaves behind and is survived by his sisters, Valerie Ashe of Boston, MA, Florence Harrison of Long Island, N.Y., Alfreda Ashe of Waltham, MA and Steven Ashe of Gloucester, MA, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
