Obituary

LOWELL Linda L. (Flanagan) Souza, 81 of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Northwood Nursing Home. She was born in Lowell on July 22, 1939 and was a daughter of the late William Flanagan and the late Agnes (Benzowick) Flanagan. She was raised in Lowell, where she attended the area schools.
In her younger days, she was employed as a secretary for Computer Vision and then for GE for over 10 years before her retirement. She loved playing bingo and taking trips to the beach, especially Hampton Beach and Rye Beach. Above all else, she adored time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her children, Joseph M. Souza and his wife, Kimberly A. of Dracut, and William J. Souza and his wife, Cynthia of Derry, NH. She was welcomed into heaven by her children, the late Karen Souza, the late David M. Souza, and the late Tony Souza.
She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, Joseph Souza III and his wife, Jessica of Derry, NH, Derek Souza and his fiancé, Chelsea of Derry, NH, Melissa Souza and her companion, Alberto of Derry, NH, Kristen Souza of Lowell, Jarred Souza of Lowell, Toni Souza of Dracut; 10 great grandchildren; her brother, James Francis Flanagan and his wife, Char of California; her cousin, Sister MaryBeth Cavanaugh of Lawrence; her brother in law, Charles Potter of Pelham, NH; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her deceased children, she was predeceased by her grandson, the late Willam J. Souza Jr.; her sister, Marietta Potter; and her former husband, Joseph M. Souza, Sr..
Linda’s family would like to specially thank the staff and nurses, especially Kimmie, Martha, and Lisa, at Northwood Nursing Home for their kindness and compassion the last few years of her stay.
