New Bedford - Maria C. deLourdes (Cabral)Amaral died Monday, March 20, 2006 at St. Lukes Hospital at the age of 82 years, after a Brief illness . She was the wife of Lodonio Amaral of South Dartmouth. Survivors include 1 Son: John Amaral and his wife Janet of Rochester, 2 Daughters: Noreen Dansareau and her husband Robert of New Bedford, and Beverly Tavares and her husband Gary of Dartmouth. 1 Brother: John Cabral and his Wife Delia of Fairhaven, 4 Sisters: Gloria Carreiro and her Husband Ernesto of Dartmouth, Maria Olinda Aguiar and her Husband Joao of New Bedford, Edviges Amaral of Dartmouth, and Maria Jose Pacheco and her Husband Denis of Canada. 7 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. She was the Sister of the late Inez Paiva, Manuel Cabral Jr., Herberto, Antonio, Joao, and Margarida Cabral
Mrs. Amaral was born in Lomba de Botao, Povaocao, Azores, Portugal and lived in this area since 1953. She was the Daughter of the late Olinda (Cabral) and Manuel Cabral.She was a seamstress at the former Elco and Paul Modes Garment Industries. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and cooking.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 23, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church South Dartmouth, MA. Visiting hours will be Friday, March 22, 2006 from 6-8 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery .In Lieu of Flowers Donations can be made to the Diabetes Association P.O.
