Arsen Faniko, 87, of Worcester passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021, surrounded by his family at home. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sofia Faniko; a son, Qirjako Faniko his wife, Loreta; a daughter, Fillareta Baklla and her husband, Pandeli all of Worcester; four grandchildren, Dimitri Baklla, Sofia Baklla, Arsen Faniko and Eleni Faniko. He also leaves a sister, Violeta and a brother, Sotiraq and their families of Albania.
He was born in Përmet, Gjirokastër, Albania the son of Qirjako and Kleopatra. Arsen Faniko was a kind and loving partner to his spouse, an amazing father to their children and a role model and a caring grandfather to their grandchildren. Arsen’s exceptional character and mutual respect extended beyond his family members to his friends and community both in Albania and in Worcester. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his gracious smile, calm voice, fine humor, sharp character and loving heart.
His funeral is Wednesday, February 17th with a service at 11:00 AM in St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, February 16th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at St. Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church.
