CHICOPEE – Nickolas W. “Burt” Mayo, 29, of the Chicopee Falls section of Chicopee, was Called Home on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. He passed into Eternal Life at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia following injuries from a motor vehicle accident. He was born in Springfield on October 29, 1991, a beloved son of Katrina A. (Hermanowski) Pike and Wayne A. Mayo. He was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. He began working as a prep cook at the former Spiro’s Restaurant in Chicopee and later worked as a cook at Falls Pizza in Chicopee, Valenti’s Pizza in Agawam and Boston Bay Pizza in Chicopee. He had also worked at BTC Tree in Chicopee. During his leisure time, he enjoyed motorcycling, skateboarding, cliff jumping and traveling. An avid BMX racer, he had raced at Whip City where he was proud to have placed first in their Nationals competition. He was quick to answer anyone with a response of “Huh?” and most of all loved spending time and hanging out with his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved daughter Juliana Elizabeth Mayo and her mother, K’yla Harris, of Chicopee; his loving mother, Katrina A. Pike and her fiancé, Roger Pike, of Painted Post, NY; his loving step-father, Jason Vyce of Vermont; his loving father, Wayne A. Mayo and his wife, Joy, of South Hadley; his loving “step-mother”, Sherry Cote of Southampton; his beloved paternal grandmother, Joanne Mayo of Holyoke; his three loving brothers and his loving sister, Anthony Barry and his fiancée, Emilia Perpetua, and Brandin Beverly and his wife, Meagan Rios, all of Chicopee, Elizabeth Vyce and her partner, Anthony Libardi, of West Springfield and Ethan Vyce and his partner, Kelsey Wolowicz, of Chicopee; his loving step-sister, Elizabeth Cote of Southampton; his three cherished nephews, twins Adreyan and Gavin Barry and Forrest Beverly; and his many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved maternal grandparents, Steven and Debbie (Bowen) Hermanowski; and his beloved maternal great-grandmother, Jean Bullough. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will conclude with Reflections of His Life at 7 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
