Worcester – Cathy A. (Martunas) Ordway, 64, of Worcester, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 after a brief illness.
Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Arthur W. Ordway Jr., a son, Scott Ordway of Worcester; two brothers, Michael Martunas and his wife, Karon of Cherry Valley and Steven Martunas and his wife, Beth-Ann of Worcester; two nieces, Karie LaRosa and her husband, Michael and Melissa Owens and her husband, Jason; four nephews, Michael Martunas and his wife, Marissa, Matthew Martunas and his wife, Erica, Joshua Martunas and his wife, Lauren and Jeremy Martunas and his wife, Leen and great nieces and great nephews.
Cathy was born in Central Falls, RI and is predeceased by her parents, Francis and Laura (Warren) Martunas; a son, Robert Roach; two step sons, Timothy and Shawn Ordway and a sister, Debra Rice.
Mrs. Ordway graduated from the former David Hale Fanning Girl’s Trade School in Worcester and Quinsigamond Community College. Cathy worked as a registered nurse for over 30 years at several local hospitals including the former Worcester City Hospital and Saint Vincent Hospital.
She took great joy in making her sure her house was always clean and loved to spend time with her family and especially with her golden retrievers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 13, 2021 in Blessed Sacrament Church 555 Pleasant St. Burial will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester. Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, February 13, from 9 to 10:30 AM in the church prior to the funeral.
Social distancing guidelines and face coverings in accordance with CDC guidelines will be in effect for the funeral and burial services.
