James Edward "Jim" Plummer, 80, of Anderson, died Saturday, February 6, 2021 at St. Vincent Anderson Hospital. He was born on June 23, 1940 in Duggar, Indiana, the son of James Newton and Pauline (Fullerton) Plummer.
Jim served in the Army during Vietnam and later was employed in Plant Security with Delco Remy Division of General Motors. He was a member of the American Legion and Madison County Veterans and attended East Side Church of God.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Joyce Schmitt Plummer, and two daughters; Jenny (Ivan Howells) Clayton and Julie (Shannon) Cleckley all of Anderson; 11 grandchildren; Sam Zirkelbach, Drew Zirkelbach, Holly (John Silvey) Cleckley, Ryan Cleckley, Jordan (Cameron Coleman) Cleckley, Sydni Cleckley, Whitni (Tyler) Ivey, Ivy (Jake) Potter, Chase Howells, Evan (Hali) Howells, and Eden Howells; four great grandchildren; Clyde and Iris Zirkelbach, Wade Potter, and Oakley Ivey; and a special friend, Dan Baumgarner.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Private services will be held on Friday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. The family is planning a public Celebration of Life at a later date.
Memorial Contributions may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in memory of Jim.
