Obituary

Peter Anthony Trucchi, age 79, passed away February 1st, 2021. He was born on October 4, 1941 in Taunton Massachusetts and was a lifelong resident of the city.

Peter is survived by the love of his life his wife of 58 years Marilyn (Pratt) Trucchi, daughter Lori (Trucchi) Kemmett, son Michael Trucchi, daughter Lynn (Trucchi) Deslauriers, as well as his 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. He also leaves a sister in law Irene Trucchi, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents John and Mable Trucchi, his brothers John and Edward Trucchi, along with his sisters Eleanor (Trucchi) Nunes, and Arlene (Trucchi) Corriveau.

Peter was a hardworking, dedicated family man loved and respected by all. He was a graduate of Monsignor James Coyle High school where he was an accomplished all star athlete. He made some of his fondest memories during these years that he held dear to his heart. Peter’s persistent work ethic started from a young age operating side by side with his father John who originated the business Trucchi’s and Son. He loved his career and retired as a butcher/meat department manager of Trucchi’s Supermarket.

Peter was a lifelong member and former president of the Italian Nationalization Club, a well-known member of the Italian Social Club, and a member of the AFA. He was an avid New England Sports Fan, but what Peter loved the most was watching 3 generations of his family play sports. He never missed a single game or event because he was our biggest fan and personal scorekeeper. Peter enjoyed playing bocce, was a competitive poker and 45 player, and spent most of his free time taking long drives with his wife Marilyn.

Peter was truly one of a kind. He will always be remembered for his unforgettable stories in addition to his witty sense of humor. His Strong willed demeanor and unwavering love for his family is irreplaceable and will never be forgotten. This wasn’t an ordinary life. This was a life well lived, well loved, a life that will be forever missed.

Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton on Thursday morning February 11th from 9 to 10:30AM followed by a funeral Mass at St Mary’s Church in Taunton at 11 AM. Interment St Francis Cemetery in Taunton. In lieu of flowers donations in Peter’s memory may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
