WEBSTER – Ursula B. Wisniewski, 73, died at Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester on January 31.
She leaves her sister, Erma H. Wisniewski; many cousins here and in England and Poland and many treasured friends.
She was born on January 11, 1948 in Worcester, the daughter of Peter and Leopolda (Rudnicki) Wisniewski. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1966, earned an Associate Degree in Business from Chamberlayne Junior College in Boston and later received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with honors and a concentration in painting and art history from the Mass College of Art. Her paintings and drawings hang in the homes of many friends and family. One of her drawings appeared in the Quincy Patriot Ledger and she received an award for her painting submitted to a juried art show in New York City. In addition, she illustrated a book related to diabetes care. She resided in Boston for many years and left her heart there.
Before returning to her studies at Mass. College of Art, Miss Wisniewski was a Medicaid fraud investigator for the Department of the Attorney General in Boston. After completing her studies, she returned to Webster working as a substitute art teacher in the Webster and Dudley-Charlton school systems. Some of her students kept in touch with her after she retired. They were very special to her. She ended her career working at New England Antiques in Dudley.
She enjoyed traveling with her sister, maintained a lifelong interest in anthropology and was an environmentalist.
Ursula was a loving, generous and kind spirit. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched, especially by her sister.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours.
