Obituary

Shirley A. Hines, Age 79, A member of a well known Tewksbury Family died at home Friday, February 5, 2021. She was the wife of Ambrose J. Hines for 57 Years.
Shirley was born on August 25, 1941 in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. She was educated in schools in Nova Scotia and moved to the Brighton Area with her beloved family and settled in Tewksbury in 1969. She worked as a nurse for St. Rita’s in Nova Scotia, Canada, St. Elizabeth’s in Brighton, MA , and St. John’s in Lowell, MA. She specialized In Maternity, she worked periodically through her life but, she took the time to raise her 5 children.
Shirley was a wonderful homemaker who loved to cook, bake, and take care of her family. She was talented in sewing and was an incredible seamstress. She was a devout Catholic and a long time communicant of St. Williams Church. Shirley taught catechism classes and was a member of the Ladies Sodality. She also enjoyed camping, boating, and bowling with her husband. She was very proud of her Scottish heritage. She enjoyed all things Gaelic, including fiddle music and participating in the Johnstown Milling Frolic.
Besides her husband, she leaves her children, Paula & Jim Dunn of Nova Scotia, Canada, Carol Ann & Rod Drohan of Nova Scotia, Canada, Nancy & Tim Hynes of Pepperell, MA and Jason C. Hines of Tewksbury, MA an 11 Grandchildren. She was the mother of the late, Joseph B. Hines who died in 2017.
Shirley leaves her mother Catherine “Kaye” Morrison of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, her siblings, Betty Hamilton, Pearl Miller, Donnie Morrison, Brenda Morrison, R.J. Morrison, Velma Humphrey, Karen MacNeil and Dorothy MacKenzie of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, also her Sister in Law, Jean Barron of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, her cousin Roy and Cora MacNeil all of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Good Friends Barbara & Al Polleck of Tewksbury, as well as many nieces, nephews and her beloved dog Georgie.
