Augusta, Maine – Jeanne M. Gregg, 95, of Augusta, Maine passed away peacefully Tuesday January 5, 2021. She was the loving wife of the late Boyce Gregg who passed away in 1998.
Born and raised in the French-Canadian textile mill community of Woonsocket, Rhode Island she was the daughter of the late Dr. Olivier Plasse and Aurore (Bessette) Plasse.
During her life Jeanne lived in several parts of the country including Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Solana Beach, California, Issaquah, Washington and Augusta, Maine.
In her earlier years Jeanne was employed with L’Union de St. Jean Baptiste d’Ameirque (The Union of St. Jean Baptiste of America) a Franco-American Fraternal and Insurance organization, in Woonsocket. She later worked for Raytheon Corporation, Markson Science and Pandell- Bradford.
Jeanne loved to be with her family. No matter where her life led her, from the East Coast to the West Coast, Jeanne’s foremost priority was the love and care of her family.
Jeanne is survived by her son Marc Gregg of Augusta, Maine and her daughter Dr. Paula Benner, DVM of Swan’s Island, Maine. She was the mother of the late Christopher Gregg who passed away in 1991 and the late Paul Gregg who passed away as an infant. Jeanne was the sister of the late Dr. Maurice Plasse. She is also survived by a granddaughter Angeline Combs and great-granddaughter Kennidi Combs..
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday May 15, 2021 at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, 94 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, Woonsocket.
