Bingo !!!!!
Bingo was one of Florence Healey's most favorite exclamations. Truly music to her ears. Florence Healey loved her family, her home and her nightly Bingo games. Bingo was Florence’s game of choice. With her cards in front of her and her marker at the ready Florence was ready and willing to embark on one of her legendary bingo marathons. If bingo were an Olympic sport, Florence Healey would be on the U.S. Bingo team.
Florence M. Healey, 96, formerly of Sayles Hill Rd. Manville, died Sunday January 31, 2021 at St. Antoine Residence. She was the loving wife of the late Theodore E. “Ted” Healey. They were married for over 40 years until Ted’s passing in 1989.
Born in Fall River she was a daughter of the late Peter and Albertine (Caron) Ouellette. She was a resident of Manville for most of her life and lived in North Smithfield in more recent years. In her earlier years Florence was employed in the locate textile industry at several area mills.
Florence relished time spent playing bingo as it was one of her favorite pastimes. She was also talented at knitting and quilting. Florence and Ted also did a bit of traveling in their day.
Florence cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her love for her family and kindness to all whom she met.
Florence’s family is deeply grateful to all of the caregivers at St. Antoine Residence for the excellent care their mom received over the past decade.
Florence is survived by two sons Thomas M. Healey and his wife Lucille of Woonsocket and David B. Healey of North Smithfield, two daughters Patricia K. Peloquin and her late husband Ronald J. Peloqin (who passed in 2008) and Sandra L. Marien of Lincoln. She was the sister of the late Albert, Raymond, Roland and Laurent Ouellette and Helen Benoit. Florence is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Funeral services for Florence were private. She was laid to rest in St. James Cemetery in Manville alongside her beloved husband Ted. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Antoine Residence 10 Rhodes Ave. North Smithfield, RI. 02896.
