Retha Marie Sumler Coleman, 76, of Midway, Georgia passed away Monday, February 1, 2021 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.
A native of Fitzgerald, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Tobie Sumler and the late Annie Lou McSwain Sumler.
Retha was retired from Eckerds Drug Store after 25 years of service and retired from Bass Pro Shop after 10 years. She was a part of The Sycamore Church; past President of the Hostess City's Lion's Club and a member of the Red Hat Ladies of Hinesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son and daughter in law, Butch and Beverly Coleman, siblings, Tilman Sumler, Velma Shell, Florence Evans, Willie Mae Walker, Clinton Sumler, Nita Saenz, Otis Sumler, Elsie Sumler. Mother in law Fleta Cody, sister in law Dot Whatley, & Jerry.
Survivors include her daughter, Jeri Lynn Whitmore, grandsons, Adam Coleman, Trevor Whitmore (Tawana), Cody Coleman, Brandon Whitmore, Dustin Coleman, Christopher Whitmore, great grandchildren, Branton Coleman, Olivia and Ava Whitmore. All her nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
Two services: A service to celebrate the life of Retha will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4th at The Sycamore Church meeting place at 2031 Grove Point Road. A service for even more celebration will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6th in the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel at 301 South Main Street Fitzgerald, Georgia.
