William H. Platt, Jr., 76, of Westport passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Julia T. (Miranda) Platt.
Born in Fall River, son of the late William H. Platt, Sr. and the late Yvonne (Hubert) Platt, he had lived in Westport since 1970. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Prior to retirement, he had worked at Globe Manufacturing in Fall River. He was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport. Mr. Platt enjoyed boating, hunting and coin collecting, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Including his wife, he is survived by a son: William H. Platt III and his wife Tina of Westport; 2 sisters: Joan Reed of Tiverton and Shirley Platt of Somerset; 4 grandchildren: Mark, Rachel, Billy and Julie; and 2 great grandchildren: Alexis and Joshua.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, February 8, 2021 at St. George Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Monday, prior to the Mass from 9 - 10:30 A.M. at the Potter Funeral Home.
Burial will be private.
