Obituary


William Hayden 80 of Whitman, died Monday February 1, 2021, after a brief period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to Stella (Dube) Hayden.

Born in Abington, he was the son of the late Harold and Margert Hayden.

William was a veteran of the Untied States Air Force having served from 1958-1963.

He was a proud member of the Union Local #1121 and prior to his retirement had worked many years as a millwright. He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry.

Bill was involved in CB radio under the handle “Hatchmoe” and later was very active in
the Whitman Amateur Radio Club under the call sign N1FRE. He participated in many
events especially with the Boy Scouts and Plymouth Plantation.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Patrick, Teresa and Charlene , all of Whitman, Suellen of East Bridgewater and his sister Mary Sherman of Renfrew, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ashley Hayden of Weymouth, Evangelyn McElaney of Whitman, Alex McElaney of Hanson, Brianna McElaney of Sanford, ME, Andrew McElaney of Whitman and Aleesha Hayden, and his great grandchildren whom he truly enjoyed, Peyton, Teagan and Charlotte.

All services will be private.
