Obituary

Sandra J. (Bruce) LaFlash, 78, of Cherry Valley, died Monday, February 1st at home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her husband of 60 years, Frederick H. LaFlash, Sr.; three sons, Frederick H. LaFlash, Jr. and his wife, Debra of Leicester, William LaFlash and his wife, Cheryl of Worcester and Scott LaFlash and his wife, Jennifer of Cherry Valley; two daughters, Sherri Frotten and her husband, David of Leicester and Traci Gosselin and her husband, Peter of Spencer; a brother, Robert Bruce and his wife, Donna of Spencer; two sisters, Linda Patterson of Worcester, Karen Andros of Fitchburg; 12 grandchildren, Maighan Moody and her husband, Matthew Gagen, Sarah LaFlash, Matthew LaFlash and his wife, Molly, Michael LaFLash, Bryan LaFlash, Jeremy Frotten, Karyssa LaFlash, Dominique LaFlash, Katelyn LaDou and her husband, Christopher, Samantha LaFlash, Madison and Bryce Gosselin; 3 great-grandchildren, Chloe LaFlash, Logan LaDou and Collen Gagen. and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, David Bruce and sister, Bonnie Classon.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Gordon and Joan (Hosegood) Bruce. Sandra worked for the Leicester Public Schools for 17 years in the cafeteria, retiring in 1996. She was a member of St. Joseph-St. Pius X Church. She enjoyed Bingo, family cruises and trips to England to meet with friends she made through the student exchange program that were like family to her. Sandra also enjoyed winters in Florida and trips to Walt Disney World.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Overlook Hospice, especially Laura, Tracy and Lisa for the care and support provided to Sandra.

Her funeral is Friday, February 5th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with her funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph-St. Pius X Church, 1161 South Main Street, Leicester. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Thursday, February 4th from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Overlook Hospice, 88 Masonic Home Road, Charlton, MA 01507 or to the McAuley Nazareth Home for Boys, 77 Mulberry Street, Leicester, MA 01524.
