In Taunton, Catherine M. Finnegan, Age 91, passed away in Morton Hospital on February 1, 2021 following a brief period of failing health. Catherine was the wife of the late Edmund E. Finnegan. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Edward D. & Mildred E. (Kelleher) Sullivan. Catherine graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Taunton and from Curry College in Boston. She had resided all her life in Taunton. Catherine enjoyed reading, she found great joy in doing fundraisers for Coyle Cassidy by organizing the fashion shows. She had a strong catholic faith and cherished her time with family, especially her beloved grandchildren. Catherine is survived by her loving children; Ellen Sotkowitz and husband David of Sharon, Edmund “Ted” Finnegan and wife Valerie of Middleboro, Anne Souza and fiancé John Bullock of Attleboro, Jeremiah Finnegan of Taunton and her late son Dennis Finnegan. She also leaves her grandchildren Michael Stephenson of Dorchester, Richard Souza of SC, and Dov Sotkowitz of N.Y.C. and her great granddaughter Barbara Stephenson and her cousin Anne Kaiser of West Bridgewater. Funeral home visiting hours will be at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Sunday, Feb 7th from 2-4pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Taunton on Monday, Feb 8th at 10am. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
