Westminster – Jacqueline (Ptak) Gemme, 87, formerly of Westminster, died peacefully on Saturday, January 30, 2021 in Clove Lake Rehabilitation Center, Staten Island NY after an illness.

Mrs. Gemme was married for 65 years to the love of her life, Raymond J. Gemme Jr., who died in 2019. She is survived by her four children, April Turner and her husband Ross of Leominster, MA, Holly Lira and her husband, Antonio of Staten Island, NY, Raymond J. Gemme III of Quincy, MA and Rev. Stephen Gemme, Chaplain of Saint Vincent Hospital of Worcester, MA; her seven grandchildren, Kristy Turner of Leominster, MA, Lindsey Gesualdi and her husband, Michael of Leominster, MA, Morgan Sansbury of Buffalo, NY, Taylor Sansbury and his wife, Priyanka of Staten Island, NY, Brett Sansbury of Wilmington, DE, Raymond Joseph Gemme IV of Leominster, MA and Melissa Gemme of Leominster, MA; two great grandchildren, Eva Gesualdi and Amber Gesualdi both of Leominster, MA; two sisters, Norma Seretto and Sandra Henault and her husband, David and many nephews and nieces.

Jacqueline was born in Fitchburg, MA daughter of the late Joseph Ptak sr. and Winifred (Dwyer) Ptak and is also predeceased by a sister, Geraldine Cheries and two brothers, Joseph Ptak Jr. and Eugene Ptak.

Mrs. Gemme graduated from St. Bernard’s High School and worked as a waitress at the Old Mill Restaurant in Westminster for many years, as well as for Cormier Catering in Fitchburg. She was an avid practitioner of arts and crafts. She was also deeply devoted to her Catholic faith having been a parishioner at St Edward the Confessor Catholic Parish in Westminster for over 50 years.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by her son, Rev. Stephen Gemme will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 10 AM in the Cathedral of Saint Paul 15 Chatham Street Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Fitchburg. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 4, from 5 to 630 PM in the Cathedral of Saint Paul, with a vigil service to be held at 6:30 PM. Memorial contributions in memory of Jacqueline may be made to Saint Paul Cathedral Worcester MA.
