Joseph “Joe” H. Sheehan Jr was born on July 15,1963 in Malden, MA to Patricia A. (Nealley) Sheehan and the late Joseph H. Sheehan Sr. He was the proud father to Joseph M. Sheehan and his wife Jesse of Chelmsford and Rachel Sheehan of Medford. He was a loving grandfather to Emily and Hayley Jo Sheehan. He was the brother of Kathleen Donahue and her husband David of Arlington, and Ann Sheehan of Malden. He was an uncle to Samantha and Kasey Donahue of Arlington.
Joe graduated from Malden Catholic in 1981. After attending Franklin Pierce University, Joe worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance in Boston. In 1984 he joined his father in starting Industrial Plastics Inc. where he helped to grow it into a successful business that is still operating to this day. Joe was especially proud when his son joined the family business in 2003, and enjoyed being able to work and mentor his son everyday just as his father did with him.
Joe was an avid sports fan who enjoyed participating in multiple fantasy sports leagues. He played in a card league with friends for many years and took those skills into multiple poker tournaments. Joe’s love of cards resulted in enjoyable trips to the casino with his mother. He was also a member of the Minuteman Dart League for many years, and his specialty shot was a triple 19. He never missed an opportunity to go to classic rock concerts, especially with his children. His favorite bands were Rush and The Who. Joe enjoyed spending summers with his family at their cottage in Canterbury, NH where he spent time playing games and fishing. More than anything, Joe’s favorite thing to do was spend time with his grandchildren who called him “G”.
Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Thursday February 4th from 4-8 PM. A graveside service will take place on Friday February 5th at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden at 10 AM. Those wishing to attend the graveside service should arrive at the funeral home no later than 9:30 AM for the procession to the cemetery.
