Obituary

Worcester: Adefunke A. (Ajayi) Akinbuli, 73, passed away on January 28, 2021 in St. Vincent Hospital following Covid related symptoms. She leaves her husband of 51 years, Christopher Akinbuli; a son- Akintunde Akinbuli; 2 daughters- Olajumoke Fagboore and Olutoyin Akinbuli. She also leaves her son-in-law- Omolewa Fagboore, and her grandkids Seun Kolawole, Makinde Akinbuli, Lisa Fagboore and Leah Fagboore, and her extended kids: the Akinbulis’, Olorodes’, Agbabiakas’, and the Odubanjos’.

Adefunke was born in Lagos, Nigeria on December 8th, daughter of Samuel and Abigail Ajayi. She graduated from UDC, and later earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration. She worked plus retired at the National Youths Service Corps as a Chief Accountant Officer liaison for the Federal government of Nigeria. During her tenure, she started her role at the Lagos office, and later moved within the southern parts of Nigeria working as the CFO in the Ibadan office and retired at the Ogun office. She was a member of the Monofaks Sisters’ Club, plus honorary appointees to spiritual organizations. She enjoyed dancing, smiling, cooking, entertaining, taking care of her family and everyone around her- plus she had an amazing fashion sense and loved jewelries.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 4 -7 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 11:00 a. m at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
