Worcester: Mae E. (Carlson) Swenson, 100, passed away on January 29, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves a son John M, Swenson of Worcester and his fiance Liz Rosenberg; a daughter Beverly Lajoie and her husband David of Holden; 4 grandchildren- Erica, Crystal, Alexandra, and Bryan; and 3 great grandchildren- Ronan, Vaida, and Marinn. She was predeceased by her husband Carl Swenson and her brother Robert C. Carlson.
Mae was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Carl and Elizabeth (Goulding) Carlson. She graduated from Commerce High School and attended Becker College. She worked as a secretary for several companies, including the former Norton Company, The Worcester County Hearing and Speech Center, and The Rehabilitation Center of Worcester. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Mae had many varied interests including researching her Scottish and Swedish ancestry as well as traveling to Florida and Cape Cod. She enjoyed going to the casino, trying her luck with scratch tickets and doing crossword puzzles. She was also a WWII history buff, as both her husband and brother had served in the military during that conflict. Mae was a kind and generous person who was always thinking of others.
