Dolores M. (McGoff) Allwood, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was 78 years of age.
Dolores was born in Boston on June 12, 1942, a daughter of the late Michael McGoff and Ellen (Crowley) McGoff. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School System and graduated from Charlestown High School. Dolores worked for over 15 years in the Admissions Department at Massachusetts General Hospital. She previously worked at Schraffts Candy as a candy packer for several years. She enjoyed knitting, arts and crafts, and puzzles. Most of all, Dolores enjoyed the special moments she was able to spend with her 3 grandchildren and always cherished the times with her extended family. Dolores was a member of the Charlestown Women's Association.
Dolores is the beloved wife of the late Paul F. Allwood. She is the devoted mother of Paul F. Allwood Jr. and his wife Linda and James Allwood. She is the loving Nanny to Connor, Sara and Jenna. She is the beloved sister of the late Mary Evers, Martha Marcella, James McGoff, Daniel McGoff and Michael McGoff. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dolores' Funeral on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 3 P.M. to 5 P.M. in the funeral home.
