Ellen T. (Soreff) Schneider, 81, of Revere, beloved wife of the late Walter “Paul” Schneider, died Jan. 26th, 2021. Born in Boston, Ellen was the daughter of the late Max and late Esther (Becker) Soreff. Ellen was raised in Revere, surrounded by her loving and boisterous extended Jewish family. Ellen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, who will be deeply missed.
She took care of so many people – through her professional ties in local and state government services and the DMV; by caring for her family, including her treasured Aunt Sally “Bubbie”, who Ellen called a second mother (and who called Ellen “the mayor” because she always knew people wherever they went); and through Ellen’s decades of volunteer work and leadership, especially with her adored son Mark, at the Revere League for Special Needs.
Ellen is survived by her sons Mark Schneider and Michael Schneider, her grandchildren Connor and Katie, her dear cousin Alan Cohen and wife Carole, sisters-in-law Doris (the late Sheldon “Shelly”) Soreff, Cindy (the late Irwin) Soreff, and Myra (the late Arthur “Tutsy”) Soreff, and her cherished niece Michelle Soreff LeFrancois, plus many relatives and friends. We will miss Ellen’s humor (and great laugh), her dedication, and her strong opinions.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Revere League for Special Needs (200 Winthrop Ave, Revere, MA 02151), in memory of Ellen.
Due to COVID-19, on Sunday, private graveside services will be at Everett Cemeteries, with a public livestream online.
