LANE, Brian M. Long-time resident of Natick, more recently of Newton Upper Falls, January 26, 2021. Loving husband of Mary Ann (Jacques) Lane. Devoted father of Julie Lanza and her husband Philip of Needham and Brian Lane of Newton. Proud grandfather of Caroline Lanza, Celia Lanza, and Allison Lanza of Needham. Brother to Sally Gould of Needham, Donald Lane and his wife Mona of Contoocook, NH, and the late John R. Lane. Brother-in-law to Leo Jacques of Tucson, AZ. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late John A. and Gertrude (Kerivan) Lane.
Brian was born December 11, 1940 and raised in Waban. He graduated from Boston College undergraduate, and earned M.B.A from Boston College. He worked in real estate starting in 1975 for Adam & Elise Realty, DeWolfe Realty, and Coldwell Banker. He loved real estate and working with people to help them find the right home, and reluctantly retired a few years ago.
He was an active member and past president of Kiwanis Club of Natick, and member of Kiwanis Club of Wellesley. Brian was dedicated to his hometown of Natick and volunteered at the Natick Service Council food pantry.
He was a big fan of BC Hockey and proud of being a BC Double Eagle. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a truly infectious laugh.
His career gave him flexibility in his schedule, which allowed him to be an enthusiastic supporter of his children’s, and then grandchildren’s, many activities. He will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave., NEEDHAM on Monday, Feb. 1 from 9:00-10:00am followed by a Funeral Mass in Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church, Newton Upper Falls at 10:30am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Please follow all Covid-19 guidelines. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Needham.
