Obituary

Richard S. Brideau, 66, of Londonderry, NH, died Wednesday January 27, 2021 in his home. He was born in Bridgeport, CT on August 30, 1954, the son of the late Stanley Brideau and Marjorie (Mauzerall) Brideau. He moved with his wife Ellen of 37 years to Londonderry in 1996 to raise their beautiful daughters, formerly living in Fairfield CT and Old Tappan NJ. He received his Bachelors degree from Franklin Pierce College in 1978. Rick had been employed by the Town of Londonderry for over 20 years in the Assessing Department, before retiring from his position of Assessor in November 2020. Rick was a member of the Town’s Planning Board for 15 years and served on the CIP Committee. He was proud to serve the Town he made his home and enjoyed the company of his wonderful co-workers. Rick was a member of the Londonderry Lions volunteering at their annual events. Rick was active in the assessing community serving as President in 2015 to the New Hampshire Association of Assessing Officials. Rick will be remembered by many as a lifelong NY Yankee fan who made friends wherever he went.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen (Nester) Brideau of Londonderry; two daughters, Megan Lea Foster, and Elizabeth Ann Brideau both of Londonderry; his grandson Logan Richard Foster; as well as his sister, Sharlene and her husband James McDonald of Trumbull, CT. He is also survived by his mother in law Barbara Perry of Waterford, CT; father in law Cletis and Donna Nester of Conway, SC; father in law Richard and Nancy Provencher of Pueblo West, CO; sister in law Robin and her husband Tim O’Loughlin of Waterford, CT; brother in law Colin and Heather Provencher of Palmyra VA; brother in law Rick and Adriana Provencher of Groton CT; cherished Aunt Lena Losier of Tracadie, Canada; nephew Greg and Trisha McDonald, niece Lori and Wesley Ogorzalek, niece Caitlyn O’Loughlin, nephew Shawn O’Loughlin, nephew Perry Provencher, nieces Talia and Skylar Provencher, nephew Felipe Provencher and many beloved cousins and great nieces and nephews.

A walk-through wake with masks, social distancing and limited interaction with the family will be held on Sunday, January 31st from 2 - 4pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 1st at 10:00am in St. Mark The Evangelist Parish, 1 South Road, Londonderry. The burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Gilcreast Road, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Londonderry Lions or St. Jude’s Food Pantry in Londonderry.
