Mr. Chanel J. Becotte, 78, of Salem, NH, formerly of Merrimac, MA passed away on Monday January 26th at his home. The son of the late Rudolph and Eva (Bilodeau) Becotte he was born in Lawrence on April 20, 1942 and had been an area resident all his life. Chanel worked at several local shoe manufacturers till getting a job at AT&T which he retired from after 25 years. Chanel enjoyed his flower gardens, bird watching, and will always be known for his quick wit and quirky saying such as "Get Wet". He was always at his happiest when surrounded by his family. Chanel was pre-deceased by his brothers: Marcel, Maurice, Roger, Robert, and Richard. He is survived by three brothers: Roland and his wife Natalie, Raymond and his fiancée Jill Porter-Bellwood, and Donald and his wife Pamela. Three sisters-in-law: Joan Becotte, Gail Becotte, and Monica Becotte There are many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
