Ronald Allen Snell, born January 19, 1943, passed away on January 23, 2021 in Warren, RI, after a long illness, at the age of 78. He was the son of the late former police chief Arthur C. Snell and the late Edith M. (Chase) Snell.
Born in Fall River, he has lived in the Tiverton / Little Compton area for most of his life. Ron graduated from J F. Wilbur School, Little Compton. Being a man of many talents, through the years he worked as an auto mechanic, chef, welder and carpenter. He served for 5 1/2 years in the U.S. Army, doing 2 tours in Vietnam. After being discharged from the Army, he served as a member of the Rhode Island National Guard for several years. His service greatly influenced his life.
Ron is survived by 4 siblings: Richard Snell and his wife Elizabeth of OH, Bradley Snell, Judith West and husband Samuel and Laura Walker of Little Compton. Also, he leaves 14 nieces and nephews, 13 great nieces and nephews and 9 great great nieces and nephews that he cared about deeply, as well as many, many friends.
A private service will be held at a later date.
