New Bedford – Ellen (Oliver) Santos, age 91, of New Bedford, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late John B. Santos.
Ellen was born in Provincetown, MA to the late Manuel Oliver and Selina (Souza) Oliver. She had worked in the Garment Industry for many years and had been a member of the International Lady Garment Union.
Ellen is survived by her sister, Virginia Gomes of New Bedford and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, the late Joseph Oliver, Manuel Oliver and Antone Oliver, all from New Bedford and her late sister, Mary Bettencourt of Cambridge, MA.
Ellen’s visiting hours will be held on Wednesday evening, January 27, 2021 at Perry Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Her funeral will be held Thursday morning, in the funeral home, beginning at 9:00 A.M. with a service to take place at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
All attendees are required by current mandated restrictions to wear a face covering at all times, to social distance 6 feet and to please refrain from any close physical contact. Attendance in the funeral home will be limited in order to meet the mandated capacity restrictions and could result with a wait time outside of the funeral home.
