Roger P. Lariviere, 73, of Cumberland, Rhode Island died peacefully January 23 at his home. He was the husband of Roberta A. (Bubnowicz) since 1971.
Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, June 12,1947, the son of the late Henry and Alberta (Guerin) Lariviere, Mr. Lariviere was raised in Woonsocket and had lived in Bellingham for a few years before moving to Cumberland.
Roger was a graduate of the Franklin Institute of Technology in Boston.
Mr. Lariviere had been the co-owner of M&R Enterprises , a fabricating company. He had also worked for the Louis Boyle Company in the office and as a forklift operator.
Roger enjoyed playing golf and being with people , he was a people person.
Roger served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars , Vietnam Campaign Medal and Army Commendation Medal. He attained the rank of Sergeant.
His also survived by his son Robert S. Lariviere of Bellingham and his brother John Lariviere and his wife Muriel of Bellingham and their daughters, Renee Butler and Laurie Huff. He is also survived by many cousins.
His memorial mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Franklin on Wednesday, February 10 at 10:00 a.m. Please follow all required Covid-19 guideline including face coverings and social distancing. (You may view a live stream of the Mass at stmarysfranklin.org).
