Raymond Thomas Blasko, 89, passed peacefully Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Oakdale Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center, W. Boylston MA. Ray was raised in Hartford CT a child of Joseph and Mary (Dopkowski) Blasko.
Ray graduated from Buckley High School class of 1950. He was a natural at running track and always was good for a story of football pick-up games with his brothers. After graduating, Ray proudly served his country by enlisting in the US Air Force. He served in the Philippines during the Korean war. Ray started work at Polaroid in 1965, retiring 30 years later. He only had 4-days of absence over those 30years. Ray’s passion was collecting Elvis, Disney, and sports memorabilia. He enjoyed watching movies and sports. After years of waiting and watching, the Patriots had six Super Bowl rings and the Red Sox won four World Series championships. Ray loved feeding the birds. He chased away any squirrels who came to disrupt his bird watching.
Ray is survived by his brothers George and John, his sister Francis Martyn and sister-in-law Lucille. Ray’s son David B Blasko with wife Terry L (Foster) and their four children: Sierra, Ezra, Elsadora and Treyston of E. Bridgewater MA. His daughter Jean M Goodall residing in Paxton MA with James W Dwinell. His grandson Bryan M Goodall with wife Annakate Kelley Goodall of Portsmouth NH. Ray was predeceased by his son, Joseph and two brothers Edward and Theodore.
Ray was a generous man always providing for the needs and comfort of his family and friends. His witty sarcasm and the shine of laughter in his blue eyes will be missed dearly. The family wishes to thank the many staff of Oakdale for their care and the love they shared with Ray and his family.
