Obituary

Karen Deanna Scarborough Lumpkin, 45, of Tifton passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at Victory Baptist Church in Tifton with the Rev. Jay Kimbro officiating. Ms. Lumpkin will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Benji Rowland officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. COVID-19 guidelines will be observed during the visitation and the funeral service.

Sean McMillan, Rick Scarborough, Chad Stone, David Bass, Weston Clamp, Christian Chavez and Jerry Walker will serve as pallbearers.

Born December 29, 1975 in Tifton, Ms. Lumpkin was the daughter of Jo-Ann Walker Scarborough of Tifton and the late Danny E. Scarborough. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Kathleen Outlaw Walker and W. A. Brown Walker, her paternal grandparents, Catherine and O. D. Scarborough; a nephew, Ryker Miley; and her father-in-law, Edward Lumpkin. Before retiring, she taught school at Omega Elementary School for twenty years. She loved spending time with her family and friends and she was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Tifton.

Ms. Lumpkin is survived by two sons, Connor Lumpkin and Camden Lumpkin, both of Tifton; one daughter, Kaylee Lumpkin and her boyfriend, Cameron Perry, both of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, Kyle and Amy Scarborough of Hahira; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kim and Danny Ross of Tifton and Dana and Josh Miley of Enigma; a special aunt, Myrtle O’Quinn; her nieces and nephews, Dylan Bass, Daisy Bass, Demi Bass, Drew Bass, Dawsyn Lou Bass, Ellie Stone, Mollie Stone, Brody Stone, Ian Gifford, Addisyn Gifford, Skyler Gifford, Brittany Daniels, Amber Estes, Emersyn Miley and Ember Miley; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Misty and David Bass and Kristy and Chad Stone; and her mother-in-law, Patricia Lumpkin.
