Chester Eliason Jr., a lifelong resident of Stoughton, passed away after a brief illness on Friday March 17, 2006 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was 89 years old. He was the loving husband of 59 years to Shirley A. (Stone).
Born June 3, 1916, in Middleboro, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Chester Eliason Sr. and Myrtle (Drake).
Mr. Eliason attended Stoughton Public Schools and was a 1934 graduate of Stoughton High School.
He was employed as a Shipper by the Draper Brothers Company in Canton for 36 years. He retired in 1961.
He enjoyed golfing and was an avid sports fan. He had a particular interest in the Boston Bruins hockey team. He also enjoyed bowling at the former Maple Alleys in Brockton, where he was a former member and Past President of the Brockton City League Bowling Association.
Mr. Eliason was pre-deceased by his brother Richmond “Rit” Eliason and is survived by several cousins and loving friends.
His funeral service will be held on Monday March 20, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. from the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. The Reverend Jeffrey Symynkywicz, officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
Visiting hours are on Sunday March 19, 2006 from 3-5 P.M. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
