Thomas D. Cash of Winthrop passed away peacefully on January 23, 2021. He was 85 years old. Thomas was the beloved husband of Irene M. (Herbert) Cash. Born in Medford, Thomas was the cherished son of the late Daniel A. and Kathleen V. (Hurley) Cash.
Prior to his retirement, Thomas was a carpenter in the roofing industry. He was a graduate of Everett Vocational School. After graduation, Thomas enlisted in the Navy Reserves and served on the U.S.S. Johnnie Hutchins with his Uncle Walter "Wally" Cash. Thomas was a member of the Winthrop Yacht Club.
Thomas was the devoted father of Thomas D. Cash Jr. of Winthrop, Coleen P. Fallon and her husband Sean of Milton and Irene E. Cash and her husband Arthur Leventis of South Boston. He was the adored grandfather of Caroline, Shannon and Isabella Cash and Daniel and Colin Fallon. Thomas was the dear brother of Colin Cash and Peggy Ann Riley both of Winthrop and the late Daniel, Walter J. “Buddy” and Edward Cash all of Winthrop. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He cherished his family above all else.
Thomas’s funeral Mass will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St. Winthrop, on Wednesday, January 27, at 10AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Please go directly to church and please follow the current pandemic guidelines. Interment will follow in Winthrop Cemetery (Belle Isle Section).
