Robert P. Lowe Jr., 84, of Londonderry, NH, formally of Gilford ME, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 24, 2021, after a brief illness at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack NH. The oldest of seven children, Robert was born in Lowell, MA on May 1, 1936. He was the son of the late Robert Sr. and Sarah (Breault) Lowe.
Robert was the owner of RLowe Signs and took great pride in his custom sign work. He loved going on drives, especially to Moosehead Lake in Maine. He was an avid football fan. You could catch him on any given Saturday and Sunday watching his two favorite teams play, the New England Patriots and Notre Dame. Robert was known for his quick wit and humor and would always make people laugh. The glance he gave when he knew someone was joking with him, is something his family will never forget. He also loved to tease his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a great love and had extreme pride when it came to his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Doris (Brooks) Lowe; His sons, Robert P. Lowe, III (Helen) of Belmont ME, Michael Lowe (Patricia) of Belmont ME, Kevin Lowe (Anne) of Londonderry NH, and Scott Lowe of Lowell MA; three daughters, Cathleen Carter of Orange City FL, Maureen Doucet (Stephan) of Londonderry NH, Colleen Hayden (Thomas) of Corrina ME, and his son in law Bruce Abbott of Dracut MA. His grandsons; Benjamin Lowe of Nashua NH, Brian Lowe of Belmont ME, Kevin, Sean and Ryan Lowe of Londonderry NH, Timothy and Lucas Hayden of Maine and Kurtis Tanguay of Londonderry NH. His granddaughters Katherine Loromeke of Lowell Ma, Katie Lucero of Bagdad, FL, Jamie Lavalley of Hudson NH, Erin Ketchum of Newport ME, Tabatha, and Tiffany Lowe of Belmont ME, Kerry Jimenez of Londonderry NH, and Kendra Jussaume of Dracut Ma, and 21 great grandchildren. His siblings; Sheila (William) Sullivan, and Barbara Bovill, of Chelmsford Ma, Norman (Jackie) Lowe of Lowell Ma, and Ronald Lowe of Hudson NH, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his two children, Jacqueleen Abbott and Joseph R. Lowe, his sisters Sally Ratte and Roberta Mullin, his sister and brother-in-law Dianne Lowe and Thomas Bovill and his niece and nephew McKenzie Lowe and Russell Bovill.
Family would like to thank the Rockingham VNA and Hospice and The Hospice House in Merrimack NH for the exceptional care they gave Robert these last few weeks.
A walk-through wake with masks, social distancing and limited interaction with the family will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services will be held privately for the family. The burial will take place in the spring in Pillsbury Cemetery, Hovey Rd., Londonderry.
