John A. Morytko Jr., age 91, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 20, 2021. He was born on Feb. 23, 1929 in Chicopee, a son of the late John A. Sr. and Mary (Bieda) Morytko. John received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Western New England College and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a self-employed CPA for many years serving companies and clients in Hampden and Hampshire counties before entering retirement. John was an avid sports fan, followed the Stock Market, enjoyed his wife's cooking and spending time with his family. He played Senior Softball and was even known for playing ping pong very well. He is predeceased by his wife Sylvia (Wojcik) Morytko, his brother Fredrick Morytko and two grandchildren, Sara and Christopher. He is survived by two sons, John A. Morytko III and his partner Alvaro Concha of Miami Beach, FL and Michael J. Morytko of Westborough, MA; three daughters, Marianne Gallant and her husband Glenn of Naples, FL, Alyce Vincelette and her husband Edmund Taddey of West Springfield and Andrea Keady of West Springfield; two grandchildren Alexandra and Joseph and one great grandchild Joel. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Jan 29, 2021 from 8:30 – 9:30 AM at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Stanislaus Basilica at 10:00 AM.
