John J. “Jackie” Brady Jr., 60, of Lawrence passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on January 19, 2021 with his loving family by his side. Jackie was born and raised in Lawrence, and attended Lawrence public schools. He retired from the school department where he worked as a custodian. Jackie loved his time at work and seeing the children every day. Some of his favorite passtimes were fishing, camping, swimming, and riding his motorcycle. Many nights Jack would play 45's with his family or spend hours on the phone staying in touch with his many friends. He loved going to the beach especially to see the sun rise or sunset. Jackie was an amazing out going person. He was known as the greatest DJ and singer at the Calumet Tavern for many years, He was a member of Club 8349 at the Methuen VFW where he loved to sing Karaoke with his family and play Keno. He was often asked by members to sing songs that they requested. Some of his favorites were “Kiss an Angel Goodmorning, In the Ghetto, King of the Road, and Chantilly Lace. He loved his cats Smoky, Bray-D, and Cash aka Baby. Jackie was pre-deceased by his parents Jack and Marie (Lemieux) Brady. He is survived and will be forever loved by his devoted family. Three sisters: Donna and her husband Ernie Desrocher of Gloucester, Debbie and her husband Robert Nadeau of Lawrence, Diane Brady and her significant other Dennis Valley of Lawrence, one brother: Michael “Mickey” Brady of Lawrence, Uncle Gary Lemieux and his wife Joanne, six nieces and nephews; David, Ryan, Jessica, Amy, Amanda, and Kristopher. His lifelong friend Robert Sullivan, and close family friends David Dion and Kim Preston, and Jill Sullivan who always called Jackie her second dad. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family that he loved so much.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, January 24th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Edgar J. Racicot Inc. Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway Rd., Dracut. To ensure the safety of all, social distancing measures will be in place and face coverings are required. Funeral services will be private.
