Carmen Désiré Horacius was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away on January 21, 2021 at age 91.
Carmen was born on July 16, 1929 in Dominican Republic.
As a Jehovah’s Witness, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who
surrounded her.
Carmen met her husband, Jean Philius Horacius in Haiti. They married in 1955 and went on to have 12 children.
Carmen was predeceased by her husband, Philius, and five of her children. She is survived by
her seven children, Marie Rose Desiré, Marie Marthe Rousseau Horacius, Philippe Horacius,
Esther Hagerty, Nahomie Horacius, Gina Horacius, Frantz Horacius, and her 14 grandchildren,
Edwin, Etienne, Roody Horacius, Jean Horacius, Daphney Horacius Louis, Ralph Rousseau Horacius, James Hagerty, Jamie Hagerty, Stanley Sanon, Gerdine Jn-Baptiste, Kerby Jn -Baptiste, Sargine Destinoble, Jethro Horacius, Phillipe Barthelmy Horacius, Jonathan Horacius, and 6 great grandchildren.
She loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her friends. She was a great
dancer.
In compliance with COVID-19 guidelines family and friends will Celebrate Carmen's life by gathering for Visiting hours in the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Highway Roslindale on Saturday, January 30th beginning at 9am. Followed by a funeral service.
Burial will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 427 Cummins Highway Roslindale.

Due to the Current Covid 19 restrictions only 25 guests are allowed in the funeral home at a time.
All visitors must wear a MASK in the funeral home and on the funeral home property.
All visitors will then follow SAFE DISTANCING
All visitors may pause at Casket/Urn and then EXIT the Funeral Home.
All visitors when returning to their cars will please exit the property to allow others to enter.
All visitors will be able to greet family members from a safe distance but not able to touch.
