TIVERTON - Norberto A. Carvalho, age 77, of Tiverton, RI, passed away on January 20, 2021 at St. Anne’s Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Norberto was born in Rosario, Lagoa, Sao Miguel, Acores, and immigrated to Massachusetts with his wife in 1969. He was the son of the late Manual Carvalho and the late Rosa (Andrade) Carvalho. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Luisa (Andrade) Carvalho.
He is also survived by his three children: Robert Carvalho of Seabrook, Texas, Susana Pacheco (husband Peter) of Dartmouth, and Philip Carvalho of Tiverton; seven grandchildren: Hannah, Ciara, Noah, and Elijah Carvalho and Ella, Ava, and Elise Pacheco; two great grandchildren: brothers Brynley and Alexander; and several nieces and nephews. Norberto was the brother of Fernanda (Carvalho) Cunha of New Bedford and the late Adriana (Carvalho) Vieira.
Prior to retiring, Norberto worked as a construction laborer for FC Construction Co. He was also a parishioner of Santo Christo Church.
Norby always enjoyed working on his home, yard, and garden, caring for his special needs son Philip, and daily visits to the coffee shop where he spent time with his friends. He was also an avid Benfica soccer fan (Go Red!).
A Public Funeral Mass for Norberto will be held on Monday, Jan 25th at 10:00 A.M. in Santo Christo Church. Burial will be private.
