Mrs. Alma Brown McLendon, 89, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, March 15, 2006, at the Atria Regency Assisted Living Facility in Mobile, Alabama.
Graveside services will be held 2 P.M., Saturday, March 18, 2006, at Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald, Georgia, with Rev. Tom Braziel officiating.
Mrs. McLendon was born February 4, 1917, in Oler, South Carolina, to the late Young Samuel and Vela Hoover Brown. She lived in Mobile, AL for the past three years from Fitzgerald, where she lived for most of her life. Mrs. McLendon was former co-owner of the Beauty Bob Beauty Shop in Fitzgerald and was a former employee of Lockheed during World War II. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. McLendon is survived by her daughter: Marianne Busbee of Mobile, AL; granddaughter: Brandon Busbee of Phoenix, AZ; brother: John Y. Brown of Panama City, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Richard McLendon, Jr.
