Beverly Martiros, 92, of Cherry Valley, died peacefully with her family by her side, Monday, January 18th at Tatnuck Park, Worcester.
Her husband of 53 years, Paul Martiros died in 2008. She leaves three sons, Gregory P. and his wife, Mary K. Martiros of Oakham, Michael J. and his wife, Kathryn A. Martiros of Leicester and Richard P. Martiros of Spencer; her daughter, Sandra J. Hartwell of Simi Valley, CA; sister-in-law Cecily Martiros of Mashpee; 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and several nephews and a niece.
She was born in Bath, Maine, the daughter of Ambrose and Madelyn Curran. She was a graduate of Becker Junior College. Beverly was a member of the Leicester Women’s Club, Worcester Art Museum and volunteered at Meals on Wheels and Rosie’s Place in Worcester. She was an active member of the New England Albanian Relief Organization and co-authored the Albanian Cookbook with the Women’s Guild, St. Marys Albanian Orthodox Church, Worcester.
She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. To know her was to love her and her smile could light up any room. She saw the good in everyone, she invested in everyone she met and found gratitude in service. She loved to cook, laugh, and loved music. But more than anything, she loved her family with everything she had. She set the bar high for all that is good and worthwhile. Beverly will be forever loved and missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Worcester Food Bank, 474 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545. Private services for immediate family will be held on Thursday, January 21st at 11:00 a.m. O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements.
