Avon - Gail L. (Black) Gorman 82, a longtime resident of Avon, died suddenly on Sunday January 17. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Gorman.
Born in Quincy and raised in New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Hazel (Mann) Black.
Gail settled in Avon in 1961, and was a familiar face in the community having worked for over 20 years as a bus driver for the Avon school system and later worked for the Council on Aging. Prior to her retirement, she had also been a customer service representative for the Reebok Company for 20 years.
She is survived by her children, John Gorman and his wife Donna of Maine, Lisa Franks and her husband Randall Sr. of Missouri, Eleanor Norian and her husband Daniel of Avon and Thomas Gorman and his husband Merrok of Montana. She is also survived by two grandchildren and three great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visiting hours on Thursday January 21 from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. All other services are private and burial will be in the MA VA Cemetery, Bourne.
