Obituary

Angel Daniel “Negro” Santos, 77, of Lowell, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.

A son of the late Gregorio Santos and the late Maria (Gonzalez) Santos, he was born January 3, 1944, in Cidra, Puerto Rico. He grew up and was educated in Puerto Rico, and since the age of twenty one has made his home in various places along the East Coast, settling in Lowell for the past forty years.

Before making his home in Lowell, he worked for the Ford Company in Wilmington, Delaware. He then worked for the City of Lowell in Trash and Recycling for many years before becoming affiliated with Tewksbury Hospital. Most recently, he worked for the Parks and Cemetery Department with the City of Lowell prior to his retirement.

He is survived by his daughter Angela Santos of Wilmington Delaware, his girlfriend of 20 years, Theresa Irizarry; his step daughter, Clarissa Baez of Lowell; his sister, Juanita Santos of Lowell; and his 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews, and several great great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the many friends he made while working for the City of Lowell.

He was also the father of the late Angel Acorn and the late Daniel Acorn and a brother of the late Cesario Santos Gonzalez and the late Felicita Santos.

While practicing social distancing guidelines and wearing a mask, you are invited to His Calling Hours 10 a.m. until 11:30 noon on Wednesday, January 20, at the MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816.
