Rosemary L. (Phillips) Sherman 93 of Bryantville, formerly of Avon, passed away on January 16th in the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late John H. Sherman, Jr.
Born and grew up in Louisiana, daughter of the late Harry and Julia (Busha) Phillips.
She moved to Avon after meeting her husband, who was serving in the Navy, and then moved to Bryantville for many years.
She worked for Avon Cafeteria school system for many years and retired as the cafeteria Manager at the Butler School.
Rosemary was a very active member at the Hanson Baptist Church, also was a mother advisor in the Eastern Star. She enjoyed painting and drawing.
She is survived by her children, John H. Sherman, III and his wife Virginia of NH, Patricia Sherman of Bryantville, Evelyn Wamboldt and her husband Gary of Randolph. She was also the mother of the late Cynthia Severse; also survived by her grandchildren, Heather Gosson, John Sherman IV, Steven Sherman, Nicole Thyne, Joshua Severse, the late Tracy Hall and eleven great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be on Saturday January 23rd in the Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. There will be a memorial service at a later date.
