Mary had a 50-year career in the Health Care Field. She started as a Laboratorian specializing in Microbiolgy and Infectious Diseases at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford, a career that spanned 27 years. After that, she moved over to the Information Technology department at Cambridge Health Alliance and managed Health Care Software.
Mary grew up in a multi-generational home with her Mom, Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents in Somerville. A home she never left.
Mary loved the creative side of herself. She was an award-winning artist. In addition, she was a gifted sewer, and an amazing and prodigious quilter. This brought a whole new circle of friends into Mary’s life. Basically, Mary’s life was about making and keeping friends. She made them and kept them in her heart and in her life from childhood on. The group just kept expanding. Her friends and family had children and she cherished them. She was a Godmother to many of these children and loved them dearly.
Services to celebrate Mary’s life will be announced at a future date. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Dana Faber Cancer Institute.
