Mr. Richard L. Parham, a lifelong resident of Medford, passed away at the Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge on Thursday afternoon, January 7, 2021. He was 86 years old.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on September 24, 1934, he was the beloved son of the late Hilton L. and Dorothy V. (Dixon) Parham. He was a Vietnam Veteran, entering the Army at Boston on September 24, 1954 and receiving his honorable discharge from Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, DC on May 9, 1958. Richard was a qualified Marksman while serving in the Army. In civilian life, Mr. Parham was a Tree Surgeon and Landscaper, for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed teaching landscaping to young men. He will be dearly missed.
Richard was preceded in death by his sisters Constance Clarke and Beverly Lassiter. He is survived by his loving siblings; Laverne M. Swan of Medford and Hilton L. “Sonny” Parham of Brockton. Richard is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
