Daniel P. "Danny" Burke, a 20 year resident of Malden and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was 69 years of age.
Danny was born in Boston on November 27, 1951, a son of the late William G. Burke and Dorothy M. (Moore) Burke. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1969. Danny enlisted into the United States Air Force on January 14, 1971 and served his country with honor and courage during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged on July 1, 1974 with the rank of Sergeant. Danny worked for several years at the Boston Herald Newspaper in the warehouse as a laborer. Danny was an avid Boston sports fan and also enjoyed playing cards where he was known to many as the "cribbage king". Family was paramount in Danny's life and he enjoyed the many special family gatherings with his 9 siblings and their families.
Danny is the beloved son of the late William G. Burke and Dorothy M. (Moore) Burke. He is the devoted brother of Jimmy Burke and his wife Ginny, Billy Burke and his wife Karen, Lois Burke, Kevin Burke and his wife Cathy, Michael Burke, Geraldine Burke, Stephen Burke and his wife Debbie and the late Dotty Burke and Gina Burke. He is the loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews and had a special place in his heart for is grandnieces and grandnephews who brought him so much joy.
