Robert "Bob" Floyd Marro- October 16, 1942- January 10, 2021
STANDISH- Bob peacefully passed away at the age of 78 from natural causes at
Northern Lights Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine.
Bob was born in Newport, New Hampshire, the son of Randy Michael Marro and Vivian
Grace (Butler) Marro. Bob graduated from High school in New Hampshire and college
with a major in Liberal Arts.
Bob served honorably in the United States Navy from 1963-1965, stationed at Treasure
Island, U.S. Naval station in San Francisco as a CT-3 (E-4) before being transferred to
Okinawa, Japan as Naval Reserve. Bob received the National Defense Service Medal,
honorably discharged as a Chief Petty Officer, E-7 in 1969. Bob also completed 2 years
of language school for Chinese/Mandarin. Bob was a member of VA and VFW, plus
several other organizations.
Bob worked for A.E. Borden in Manchester, New Hampshire in the 70's. A.E. Borden was
bought out by United Refrigeration in the 80's. In 1987, Bob became their Sales Branch
manager, where he remained until his retirement in 2000. Everyone loved him. Customers
used to call him, "The man, the myth, the legend", along with the employees. Bob's favorite
phrase was "okie dokie".
Anyone who knew Bob, loved his quick wit, that infected all who knew him, he loved life, baseball,
the Patriots, his favorite football team, love of casinos. He and his wife of 43 years, Donna, traveled
abroad, Italy, etc., went on numerous cruises and trips throughout their marriage.
He leaves many special people, who touched his life as much as he touched theirs. His special
niece, Cyndi Angolano, who was there for him tirelessly, his sister-in-law, Anna Leveillee of
Winooski, Vermont, brother-in-law, Bob Barrows, of Winooski, Vermont, Paul Wohltjen, a friend/
coworker of Saco, Maine and several nieces and nephews, affectionately remembered.
He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Donna , in Nov. 2012. The love of his life. His sister,
Joyce and brother, Dick Marro, niece Brenda and grandnephew, Toby. Also, special family friend,
Sheri Lovely. His loving companion, Zoe, his Pomeranian. Many sister-in-laws, and brother-in-
laws.
Thank you to the staff and nurses on the 5th and 2nd floor at Northern Lights Mercy Hospital for
the compassionate care given to Bob.
Graveside services will be announced at a later date, with military honors at Resurrection Park,
Hinesburg rd., South Burlington, Vermont, where he will be laid to rest with his wife, Donna.
